Grace Lee's Venture Hoolala Korean Chicken Opens In Ortigas!

We do have to admit that the Koreans has introduced us into many new cuisines with the boom of Korean themed restaurants and serving Bulgogi, Kimchi and Bibimbap. DJ-Host Grace Lee recently embarks on a new point of her career here in the Philippines by having her own restaurant that serves authentic Korean Chicken with Hoolala Korean Chicken in Ortigas Center.

Located in Escrive Drive (near Astoria and Shaw boulevard), Hoolala opened its doors to serve Korean Chicken. And unlike the usual, they come up with a very affordable menu yet authentic Korean Chicken to the core as she is also working with her mother in this enterprise.

Hoolala represents the fruition of Grace’s dream of showcasing her family’s closely-guarded culinary concoctions for several generations now. With her mom overseeing the kitchen’s day-to-day operations, Grace makes sure that all the little details ensure quality, consistency, as well as the restaurant’s claim to authenticity.

#KogiFunMeet Presents KPOP Chicken

For the first Kogi Fun Meet with Bloggers, it was a gathering of food lovers and adventurers. Kogi Bulgogi, known for its distinct Korean cuisine is heading toward new menus and also more branches.

It was an afternoon with the best of Kogi Bulgogi has to offer, starting with their appetizers called Banchan which are a variety of sweet, spicy, and neutral flavors. Of course they also have spicy choices like Kimchi and Jjamppong.

One interesting featured service in the restaurant is the option of spice levels (from 1-10) of your chosen dish that can give you a mild to wild spice flavor depending on one's preference.

FOOD STOPS: Bulgogi Brothers SM Mall of Asia

Well we will take a break from Thai, American, Japanese for now as I stop over to Korean Cuisine with Bulgogi Brothers located in SM Mall of Asia. And with this stop we also got to check out new on their menu that gives more diverse choices aside from the Beef Bulgogi and Kimchi.

Well speaking of Kimchi, I admit I am not a fan of it because I used to be a sweet fan forever, but being exposed to many spicy cuisines like Thai and Singaporean converted me to appreciate the flavorful taste of spices. And knowing that Korean food involves spicy choices, then I guess its time to be love kimchi.

FOOD STOPS: Bon Chon Chicken

The best chicken in America (as per the New York Times, GQ, and Esquire) -- now in Manila!

This made me interested to try BON CHON chicken now growing in number of stores and patrons Originally from the US but with a unique flavor made from Korea makes it a great east meets west inspiration and the product is a one of its kind.  On a fun afternoon food bloggers went to Bon Chon's first branch in Ayala Triangles and had a taste of their best sellers and get to experience the new chicken many are raving about even in the US.
