Aside from fresh produce like fruits and vegetables,
make sure to wash meat ingredients before cooking.
Spending more time at home has enabled some people to explore cooking and experiment with recipes. Whether one is a newbie cook or a long-time home chef, here are tips one can follow to help ensure food safety while making new dishes.

Wash hands before preparing food

Aside from carefully washing any fresh produce or meat product bought from the market, another way to ensure food safety is to practice proper handwashing before preparing ingredients for cooking. Make sure to thoroughly wash hands for more than 20 seconds using soap and clean water.

QSR giant reinforces quality, safety and cleanliness for Dine-In

As the country continue to fight to flatten the curve, safety and sanitation remain to be the top concerns of Filipinos. Understanding the sentiment of consumers, McDonald’s Philippines has further reinforced their commitment to quality, safety and cleanliness.

At a visit by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) led by Secretary Ramon Lopez, National Task Force against Covid-19 Chief Implemente Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr., and Chairman of House Committee on Trade and Industry Congressman Wes Gatchalian, McDonald’s showed that it is ready for dine-in with its safety protocols for employees and customers in place.

From farm to table: Australian Table Grapes are back in the Philippines with unique varieties on offer this season

Naturally grown and ripened under the Australian sunshine with a sweet burst of flavour and juicy pulp, the new season of fresh Australian Table Grapes are now available for Filipinos to enjoy today.

Let's Make Dalgona Coffee!

Staying at home is indeed a bummer for all of us, but this will not keep us from enjoying something new. And as many people are now getting hooked online and to TikTok, in which I am also addicted to watching and making videos. And one of the most talked about item on that platform is the creation of what they call Dalgona Coffee.

It was on these platforms that I got curious on how they are made and looking on how nice they look in pictures made me want to also try it for myself. This is also a great way to try my skills in making a new beverage.

Some say that Dalgona Coffee originated in India, Pakistan or Macau. But whichever country it came from, how it is made is what makes it very enjoyable. And despite the scarcity of ingredients, this can be done with just very basic items which are:

McDonald’s is committing 50,000 meals to be served through ‘McDo Kindness Kitchen’

Through the project of Ronald McDonald House Charities, individuals and organizations may now help provide more meals for those in need.

Recognizing the selfless efforts of frontliners and the support needed by marginalized communities, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), the charity of choice of McDonald’s Philippines opens the McDo Kindness Kitchen. For this program, McDonald’s Philippines pledges 50,000 meals to be served for medical health workers, police, LGU volunteers, government agencies and local communities.

Golden Arches Development Corporation (McDonald’s Philippines) Official Statement on the COVID-19 Response

As the situation on COVID-19 remains to be uncertain, Golden Arches Development Corporation (McDonald’s Philippines), majority owned and operated by Dr. George T. Yang has announced the release of a response fund of P500 million pesos to enable the company to provide assistance for its employees and communities it serves. 

For company employees, the fund covers: 

Restaurant crew and managers whether they are unable to come to work or not, and head office employees’ salaries to be released for the period of the quarantine. 

A special premium pay package will be provided for crew and managers who are able to come to work in selected stores that remain open to serve the community in enhanced quarantine areas.

USAID and PBEd Partner with McDonald’s Philippines to Offer Work-Based Training Positions for 5,000 Youth

YouthWorks PH, a youth employment project implemented by the Philippine Business for Education (PBEd) in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Golden Arches Development Corporation (McDonald’s Philippines) to train 5,000 unemployed and out-of-school youth.

YouthWorks PH is a workforce development project valued at more than Php1.7 billion that expands training and employment opportunities for Filipino youth, connecting them to technical vocational training institutions and companies.
