Gatorade has made its mark as the beverage of athletes and still continues to be present with major sports in the world. And here in the Philippines, it is also dominates as we are crazy with basketball, volleyball, and teams in the NCCA and UAAP. The brand is celebrating the golden anniversary with the launch of their new variant, WHITE LIGHTNING.
White Lightning has the orange-and-grapefruit-flavor white colored beverage that will be added to the roster of flavors that are favorites by many. With the introduction of White Lighting to the market, there are now more options for different folks.
I like the simple yet refreshing taste of this Gatorade which I can say will also be a choice of many. And also to celebrate this momentous event in the Philippines, Gatorade Philippines also launched new brand ambassadors who will represent the brand as they are known in the local sporting scene as trailblazers in their respective sport disciplines.
With the new variant comes a powerhouse line-up of ambassadors who are among the top local athletes of this generation—UAAP volleyball superstars Alyssa Valdez from the Ateneo Lady Eagles and Mika Reyes from the De La Salle Lady Spikers together with basketball hotshots Chris Banchero of the Alaska Aces and Jeron Teng of the De La Salle Green Archers.
The launch held in the Gatorade Hoops place in Mandala Park Mandaluyong gave a challenge to the press with the ambassadors as the coaches. I was part of Team Alyssa and went into stages of challenges that test physical strengths, flexibility, and agility. In the end, we ended with 3rd place, but that is OK since we also got cool prizes from Gatorade!
As I look forward to do more physical activities in the future, Gatorade will be there to keep me hydrated and will love white lighting as its new flavor!
