As part of the celebration of the 413th Foundation Day of Malabon, the city government will launch its first Kulinarya Festival to showcase the city’s culinary tradition and distinct food heritage on May 15, 2012. It was be held at the Dampa sa Paseo, a newly opened restaurant in Barangay Catmon, Malabon City.
The different restaurants and food establishments in the city will put up booths in the event venue to display their sumptuous products and dishes. These will include the famous Pancit Malabon, Sapin-sapin, Pichi-Pichi, Crispy Pata, Lechon and other native delicacies.
Witnessing the opening ceremony of the Kulinarya Festival are members of the press and the bloggers community that were invited to have a taste of Malabon’s specialties.
The press and the food bloggers will be able to meet and interact with the owners and representatives of these business establishments, so that they can share the stories behind their products, delicacies and famous dishes.
As part of the festival, the guests will be able to taste the local homegrown dishes such as Pancit Malabon, Menudo, Okoy Malabon, Lumpiang Hubad, Asado and Kusilbang Saging which have the distinct flavor and touch of Malabon.
