Chef Jackie Ang-Po Kicks off Yummy & KitchenAid Cooking Workshop Series

As a special treat for its faithful readers, this year Yummy Magazine, the country’s number 1 food magazine, has partnered with KitchenAid premium kitchen appliances for a series of three Cooking Workshops in 2015.  To kick things off in style, the first leg was held at the prestigious Enederun Colleges in Bonifacio Global City, and conducted by no less than Chef Jackie Ang-Po, a multi-awarded pastry chef, cooking TV show host, and owner of Fleur De Lys dessert café.  The ideal partner for the workshop series, Kitchenaid is known for its now legendary stand mixer introduced in 1919. Today, KitchenAid offers a wide range of essential kitchenware and appliances.

The Cooking Workshop series is an opportunity for avid readers of the magazine to recreate Yummy recipes with the help of renowned Filipino chefs and utilizing KitchenAid products. Registration for the event is free for all Philippine residents, but is on a first come first serve basis. Only the first 35 readers to register per leg can be accommodated.

At the first Cooking Workshop, participants were paired up with selected top Philippine food bloggers, and each pair got the chance to create their own rendition of the Triple Chocolate Parfait at specially equipped KitchenAid Stations that were set up for the event.  They also had the chance to win KitchenAid merchandise by taking photos at the event and uploading them on Instagram with the hashtag #YummyKitchenAidEasyRecipes. One lucky guest got to take home a KitchenAid Hand Mixer that was raffled off.

Using various KitchenAid products, Chef Jackie walked the participants through the processes of creating 3 delectable recipes: 1) grilled watermelon and mango Jicama salad with mango vinaigrette, 2) Ossu Buco, 3) Praline puff, and 4) Yummy’s recipe Churros con coco cookie butter.

“We’re very happy that our readers have made Yummy a part of their kitchen adventures,” said Trixie Mendoza, Managing Editor of Yummy Magazine. “We’re equally happy to partner with KitchenAid and Chef Jackie Ang-Po in sharing our passion for food and cooking with our loyal readers.”
