FOOD STOPS: Bulgogi Brothers SM Mall of Asia

Well we will take a break from Thai, American, Japanese for now as I stop over to Korean Cuisine with Bulgogi Brothers located in SM Mall of Asia. And with this stop we also got to check out new on their menu that gives more diverse choices aside from the Beef Bulgogi and Kimchi.

Well speaking of Kimchi, I admit I am not a fan of it because I used to be a sweet fan forever, but being exposed to many spicy cuisines like Thai and Singaporean converted me to appreciate the flavorful taste of spices. And knowing that Korean food involves spicy choices, then I guess its time to be love kimchi.

New Treats from Angel's Pizza

The rainy season might have started as well as the new school year and this means people would like to have more convinience with their everyday activities as well as something new that the half of the year can offer. Angel's Pizza heard our prayers and is giving out a lot of new offers and great deals that will truly makes customers excited.

Let us start with the newest pizza flavor which is the Chicken Parmigiana, a mixture of fresh chicken, tomatoes, bell pepper and cheese. Simple yet satisfying treat and a good alternative to the common pizza flavors of beef and ham. Available in hand-tossed and thin crust, this pizza also reminded me of the chicken parmigiana Breaded Chicken Bowl which is my favorite.

Take the Plunge and Bring Back the Fun in Risk Taking

Risks. At one point or another, we have all craved for an adventure.

We have all wished for moments that take our breath away, and situations where we stretch ourselves, pushing our limits and living to tell the tale.

Taking risks empower us. It allows us to get to know ourselves, and most importantly, to discover parts of ourselves we didn’t even know existed. It is also essential in staying young. By taking risks, we allow ourselves to be childlike again, simply taking the plunge without hesitation or worse, overthinking.

Risk-taking doesn’t have to be life-changing, but it has to be radical enough to matter. You don’t need to suddenly switch careers or pack your bags, and leave everyone behind. You can start small.

Sometimes, taking risks is as simple as taking up a new sport or going on a new adventure on a weekend with your closest friends. For foodies, taking risks mean dining in new restaurants and for movie buffs, watching a new genre is taking movie watching on an entirely different experience. The risk you take is when you dare to step out of your comfort zone. Visit new places, talk to new people. You will never know how enriched your life would be unless you step out and take an entirely different direction.

Tame the mid-year madness with Nestea RTD

June is a time of transitions in the Philippines. It signals the end of summer and the start of the school year. It’s the month when we declared our independence from colonial rule. It is the halfway point to a year that was hopefully good and is just about to get better.

So how to cope with this high-stress period of mid-year, when everything – from school starting to mid-year office reviews to higher-volume traffic turns your comfortable home ground into a battleground?

Start by taking the year not as halfway done, but halfway there. With this glass half-full perspective, it’s a great time to create new habits and start refreshed – after all, there’s six more months to go before we start anew.

Take time to relax. If you took the first half of the year at breakneck speed, accumulating leaves and not taking any sick days, then you’ve banked enough goodwill to take a break. School just starting? Read ahead and be ready. Don’t stress out just as the year begins. There will be plenty of time to do that between now and exam time.

Get off the beaten path. Bored with the same old day-in-, day-out monotony? Get ready to break out and do small things to spice things up. Change your route going to work or school, find a new hangout to unwind, even learn a new song for the monthly videoke session.

A Fruity Twist on a Beloved Dunkin' Classic

Living in the tropics means we have classic go-to fruits for every season. What’s even better is that we can enjoy them year-round, come rain or come shine. Looking for specialty fruits per region is also an exciting adventure, because the Philippines seems to have as many fruits as it does regions.

Year-round fruits are a constant delight, and in this area, the banana leads the pack. Whether you like the Lakatan, Saba, or Señorita, it is great as is ripe, or sugared with ice and milk. Legend has it that the first banana tree grew somewhere in Mindanao, and came from the heart of a young maiden who refused to marry someone she did not love.

Going beyond the afterburn

Fitness. It is not always about laboring with weights or cardio for hours. Rest and recovery are just as important as any other rigorous activity we invest our time on. And maybe it is about time to rethink your game plan and add recuperation to your list of fitness must-dos.

Recuperation. The state of recovering and replenishing the lost energy until it comes back to a considerable normal state. It’s not rocket science and is as natural as gaining weight after a long bout of overeating. Because it seems easy and natural, we often take it for granted. However, something as easy as recuperation can cause your plans of staying fit to go awry around if taken lightly. Philosophers, though they are no sportsmen, have it right. In everything, we must find balance. And the ratio of working out to recuperation is no exemption.

Workoutholics, we hear you. Nothing beats the adrenalin rush in every additional kilo lifted, every kilometer conquered, every pose perfected, and every smash, hit, or punch unleashed. And sweat? It can be addicting. Yes, you may get exhausted, but on top of that, it makes you feel invincible. The natural endorphins released during periods of strenous activity can make you feel superhuman. But if even Superman has kryptonite, then so do you.

Sleep is one of the body’s best ways to recuperate, allowing not only your body but also your mind and heart to relax and replenish its reserves, in time for another grueling day. A partner to sleep? Hydration. Because in our intense activities, we not only inflict unseen damage on our bodies, we also lose immeasurable amounts of fluids.

The good news is, there’s a drink especially formulated to replace the energy we lose while working out. Perfect for on-the-go folks, meaning almost everyone, who seems to work – and work out – round the clock. 100Plus is a mildly carbonated drink that has the ability to replenish lost body fluids and minerals during intense activities, making it the perfect afterburn and recovery partner.

So worry not, gym buffs and sports aficionados, not even time can stop you from doing what you want. What did we tell you, balance in everything, right?

FOOD NEWS: Sumosam opens in SM City Manila

I'm very impressed with how Sumosam is expanding its business to many places in the metro offering the best Japanese cuisine that is loved by many Filipinos. And recently, the newest branch of Sumosam just opened in the SM City Manila which is offering the very well-loved Sumosam menu.

Present in the opening is the successful entrepreneur actor Marvin Agustin who received awards last year for his success with his restaurants. He is very hands on with the business which in the previous features of his restaurants he is always present and always willing to showcase his skills and also his staff.

FOOD STOPS: Koh Samui Thai Cuisine

I'm getting used to Thai food lately with restaurants featuring Thai cuisine and some even employing Thai cooks to ensure the authentic Siam taste. And lately we came across Koh Samui Restaurant at Hobbies Center in Macapagal Avenue.

From the facade, it would definitely look Thai with the elephants and the golden details at the door. It looks so regal and makes you feel like a royalty. The interiors are a mix of traditional Thai royal halls with some colonial feel with the tables and the bar. It would definitely be a great venue for parties, weddings, and other celebrations.
