1. WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT
Bizu Patisserie will be celebrating its 10th year Anniversary from August to November 2011. Bizu Patisserie invites professional and amateur photographers to join the “Joie de Vivre” Photo Contest, a photo contest that seeks to capture life’s joyful moments.
"Joie de Vivre", a French term which means “The Joy of Living” represents what Bizu Patisserie has consistently given its clientele through its superb selection of foods that are both savory and sweet. Through the competition, Bizu Patisserie wants to make sure they remember not just the decade that has passed but also the special and endearing moments that drew them close to their clientele’s hearts. Bizu believes that everyone should find happiness in everything and should celebrate life to the fullest.
2. WHO WILL QUALIFY
All professional and amateur photographers, eighteen (18) years old and above, and residents of the Philippines.
3. RULES ON SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES
An entry must consist of the following:
One (1) filled-up contest registration form and one (1) Release/Waiver photo form (can be used for multiple entries).
8R print of the contest entry (Please write your name with the Photo Entry Title, Photographer’s Complete Name, Theme Category, Complete Address, Contact Number and Email Address at the back of the entry)
There are six (6) theme categories. Photos must seek to capture life’s Simple Pleasures and highlight their joyful moments of Being Alive in the following categories:
I LOVE YOU MOMMY/DADDY
WE’RE IN LOVE
FUN WITH FRIENDS
LOVE THYSELF
CELEBRATING WITH FOOD
JUST US KIDS
Participants may submit a maximum of two (2) entries per Category but can only win once for the entire contest.
Participants, when submitting entries, may combine several contest entries in one legal size brown envelope. One (1) photo is equivalent to one (1) contest entry.
Metro Manila participants should drop their entries in our designated Drop Boxes in all Bizu Outlets while Provincial entries can be mailed in.
Participants may download the Registration and Release forms from our Facebook Fan Page www.facebook.com/ilovebizu or get them at any of our Bizu outlets.
All entries should be free of watermarks and other markings. Entries should not contain any border.
Entries should be unpublished and exclusive to this contest.
Color formats and in Horizontal or Landscape Orientation only. Images should not contain drastic alterations. Elements should not be added nor removed. Color and contrast adjustments are acceptable. High Dynamic Range (HDR), Infra Red (IR) and Stitched Photos are not accepted.
All entries should meet the contest criteria if failure to do so will result to disqualification.
The participant shall guarantee that the photo entries are taken by him or her and that no other entity has rights, claims or interests on the submitted photos. The participant should complete / fill up the “Undertaking” portion in the Contest Registration Form.
Entries with a person/s as subject/s should be accompanied with a signed written personal release from the subject/s.
4. DEADLINES AND SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES
Metro Manila participants can drop their entries at our designated drop boxes from August 15, 2011 to October 25 2011. Provincial participants can mail in their entries to the Bizu Patisserie Café head Office from August 15, 2011 to October 31 2011. The contest organizers are not responsible for any postal or technical delay in the transmission of the entries.

5. CRITERIA FOR JUDGING - Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
Thematic Relevance – 40%
Originality and Creativity – 30%
Technical Excellence – 30%
6. MECHANICS FOR JUDGING
Screening of all entries to get the top five (5) finalists per category and the Determination of the Grand Winners from the finalists will be on November 04, 2011, 10:00 am at the Bizu Commissary office located at 2158 Chino Roces Avenue Makati City to be facilitated by Bizu executives and Judges at the presence of a DTI representative.
The following judges and officers from Bizu Patisserie shall be present during the screening and determination of winners:
MR. INO MANALO – former Director of Metropolitan Museum of the Philippines
MR. JO AVILA – Professional Photographer and Owner of Jo Avila Photography
MS. ANNIE TANCO – Owner and President of Bizu Patisserie and Café
To ensure that judging is fair and objective, the final entries shall be numbered. The names of the photographers shall not be disclosed until winning entries are identified. Prior to the online announcement of the winners on November 04, 2011, a participant shall not disclose or announce his authorship of the photos so the entries will not be disqualified.
A total of Twenty-four (24) Finalists and Six (6) grand winners will be notified through email and a phone call on November 04, 2011. Winners will also be announced on our Facebook Fan page (www.facebook.com/ilovebizu) and Bizu Patisserie and Café Website (www.bizupatisserie.com) on the same date.
ONLINE COMPONENT:
A special “People’s Choice” winner will be awarded with a 3-day, 2 nights “Vista de Laiya” Package for two at Acuatico Beach resort. The twenty-four (24) finalists will be asked to upload their photos on Bizu Patisserie’s facebook fan page events tab. Those with the most number of votes (as represented by the most number of “Likes”) will be awarded of the 3-day 2-nights Vista de Laiya package. The Facebook contest will run starting from November 05, 2011 till November 24, 2011 at 12:00AM.
On November 26, 2011 (Saturday) an awards ceremony will be held at Bizu Patisserie and Cafe / Bistro in Greenbelt 2, Makati City to hand over the prizes to the “People Choice”, Photo Contest Finalists and Grand Winners.
Prizes for the contest are as follows:
Grand Prize Winners
There will be a Total of Six (6) Grand Prize Winners: one (1) winner per Category.
Each will receive from Bizu P10, 000 Bizu Gift Certificate (GC’s) (Note: Bizu GC’s worth P500 are valid for one (1) year from the date of receipt from the registered mail)
Each will also receive a 3-Day, 2-Nights “Casa de Playa” Package for Two in Acuatico Beach Resort. (Valid for 6 months from date of receipt)
Top 24 Finalists
There will be a Total of 24 Finalists who will receive the following Consolation Prizes:
Bizu GC’s worth P2,000 each (Note: Bizu Gift certificates with the denomination of P500 worth will be valid for 1 year from the date of receipt from the registered mail.)
People Choice Winner
- There will be only one (1) people choice winner who will receive a 3-day, 2 nights “Vista de Laiya” Package for Two at Acuatico Beach resort. (Valid for 6 months from date of receipt)
A participant can only win once in the entire contest. In the event that more than one entry of a contestant wins, the following rules shall apply:
The entry with the higher prize shall prevail;
If the entries win similar prizes, the entry garnering the higher rating shall prevail.
For Metro Manila winners unable to claim their prizes during the Awarding Ceremony, they may claim their prizes at Bizu Patisserie and Café Commissary office located at 2158 Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City. Monday to Friday from 9:00am until 6:00pm.
For provincial winners, prizes will be sent via our designated courier, provided they send an email request to bizumarketing@gmail.com with their Complete Name, Delivery Address, and Contact details. If the Prize includes Cash, we will deposit the amount provided the winner emails us his Bank Name, Account Name, Account Number, a 1x1 picture, and a scanned valid ID.
Winners who will personally get their prizes from our head office must present a valid ID to claim the prize.
Winners must claim their Prizes within sixty (60) days after receiving the registered mail
All unclaimed prizes after the said duration shall be forfeited in favor of Bizu Patisserie and Café with prior DTI approval.
Taxes on their prizes shall be shouldered by the winners.
Bizu Patisserie and Café GCs are transferrable but not convertible to cash.
7. RIGHTS OVER THE SUBMITTED PHOTOS
BIZU proudly protects photographers' rights. Ownership of the photos shall be with the photographers of the entries. Bizu Patisserie and Café will not in any way use the submitted photographs in any of their advertising, publicity and marketing promotions which may include Exhibit, Company brochures, posters, billboards, postcards, merchandise, online advertisement, website, web blogs, social networking sites, and other online marketing sites. Bizu Patisserie and Café is not allowed to lend or sell these photos for monetary considerations. In the event that Bizu Patisserie and Café would like to use the photographs for their advertising, marketing and public use, Bizu Patiserie and Café will request a meeting with the said photographer regarding purchase of the photograph.
8. DISQUALIFICATION OF BIZU PATISSERIE AND CAFÉ AND AFFILIATES’ EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, CONSULTANTS AGENTS AND THEIR RELATIVES.
Employees, including contractors, consultants and agents of Bizu Patisserie and Café and its affiliates as well as their relatives up to the 3rd degree of consanguinity or affinity are disqualified from joining this contest.
